Bridget picks up the story. “These primates were killing the planet—paving over
its forests, poisoning its water and air—and of course all of us with it. Until
. . .” Bridget looks to Gwendolyn to finish the tale.
“Until,” says Gwendolyn, “the planet had had enough and
threw a major ‘hissyfit’—a global tantrum of tornadoes, hurricanes,
earthquakes, floods—even a mini ice age—until every last primate was dead.”
4.12 Looking up, Gwendolyn
murmurs, “Oh no.”
